Memory Card Data Recovery
Memory card data recovery is the process of trying to access data from a memory card that has been lost due to physical damage or software failure. In many cases, memory card data recovery refers to the memory cards in cameras and not necessarily just to those in computers. However, the process itself refers to both scenarios.
The memory card in your camera is much more likely to be damaged than the one in your computer. Because you carry your camera around and about with you, there is a better chance that it could get damaged – you could drop it, spill something on it, or do one of many other things that can damage it. Computers are stationary for the most part, and are therefore less susceptible to outside elements that may cause them harm.
Because you can get a digital camera for under $100 these days and because the only data it will have on it are pictures or videos, it may not necessarily be worth it to you to pay for memory card data recovery services. This of course depends on the individual situation – how important the pictures and/or videos are to you and how much money you have to burn.
For many of us, our pictures and videos are priceless. Imagine spending a month traveling through Europe – you took over a thousand pictures, hours of video and captured some of the most amazing times of your life. As you’re unpacking, you drop the camera on the ground, and the force is enough to damage the memory card. You try to upload the data to your computer, but can’t access it. To me, I’d be willing to pay whatever I had to in order to get those memories back. In some cases, this may cost more than your flight to Europe!
